Here is a more recent picture of the actress who was Pippi in the 70's. To me this will always be Pippi, the one I think of. I loved those movies. I haven't thought about them in ages. I read that this is the 60th anniversary of the first Pippi book: 1945 - 2005.

How old were you when you first saw Pippy and realized she was your role model?

I have loved Pippy and what she stand for since I was like 6. Whoever thought up her character deserves a medal.

One Day

As the holiday seasons are over and another birthday is quickly approaching, all the bills are piling up. I really want to shirk all responsibility and just have ONE day as Pippi. She was so carefree and take life by the seat of the pants..Man that would be great!!!

Halloween

Has anyone besides myself gone as pippi for halloween?

I have to dig up my pic and scan it so I can post it. But when I was like 15 I went as Pippi, using coat hangers to stick my pigtails out straight, and my sis went as the Pirate I was fighting. It was WAY fun!

A movie?

No, I've not heard of any plans for a Pippi movie. I'm just curious to hear your thoughts.

Do you think a new Pippi should be made? Would it be cool to see something new? Should they not because they could mess up that which we already love?

Perhaps an indie film would be better than a bloated Hollywood film?

I rented this movie so much my older sister would race into the movie store before me and hide all the copies so id think they were out

she was my true child hero!!!!!

her generosity, her fashion sense, her horse everything about pipi!!!!

I love her

especially how she did housework!!

ok! A bit of excitement

So after seeing a pic here on tribe of dear sweet pippi I remembered what POWER and INFLUENCE that girl wielded so COMFORTABLY and of course QUIRKILY.

So hey, she is my role model and in life I have tried, in my way to live her principles of personal expression and freedom.

So any other pippilotta lovers out there?
